Please see here for an explanation of the detailed acounting records that are taken by the school.

Summary

The school has been in operation since 2010, however they were closed from February 2013 to May 2013 due to the annual 3 month school holiday as well as lack of funds.

During the last 6 months the school has had about 80 children, and the teachers have had no salaries, the average expenses have been about $500 per month.

In those 6 months the average donations have been about $250 per month, with the headmistress paying the remaining $200-250 per month with her own money.

The school restarted in June 2013 and now has a total of 170 children, in order to make the school sustainable the teachers should be given atleast a volunteer stipend of $30 per month so that they can survive and also send money back home to their poorer relatives in Burma. The estimated costs for 170 children plus volunteer stipends is $1200

Two new donors have joines and committed to a total of $700 per month donations. Therefore we only need donation commitments of $200 per month to be able to providean education for 170 children along with volunteer stipends for the teachers.

With further money we would be able to provide the kids with furniture (they currently sit on the floor to study) uniforms, computers, books, and proper basic salaries for the teachers (such as $120 per month each) which would ensure the long term stability of the school.
